Job Description
Working as part of the assembly team, the successful candidate will support the build, modification, and instrumentation of all mechanical assemblies throughout the assembly process of a military vehicle and related parts.
Responsibilities
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and repair techniques.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
- Familiarity with quality and production standards.
- Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Follow and construct the assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to ensure product quality and functionality.
- Inspect and test assembled products to verify compliance with quality standards and performance specifications.
- Identify and report any issues or discrepancies in the assembly process to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies; participate in safety training and audits.
- Perform troubleshooting, rework, and repair tasks as necessary for mechanical assembly and installation.
- Document assembly procedures and maintain up-to-date records.
- Recommend corrective actions and alternative methods for optimizing workspace utilization.
This role is a full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours are as follows;
Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 3.30pm - 30 minutes for lunch
Friday 7.30am to 12.30pm
Planned start date: Early Summer, exact date TBD
Key Competencies and Experience
- If newly graduate or an apprentice lacking the experience, not having below requirements but being open to work, motivated and good in communication skills, please refer to the additional information tab.
- Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas:
o Automotive assembly
o Automotive troubleshooting and repair
o Diesel engines
o Transmissions
- Having a certificate for the use of cherry pickers and forklifts is a plus.
- Have experience working as an assembly technician in a related field or automotive sector.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to use digital tools like tablets or kiosk for documentation and follow up of assembly guides.
- Experience in using assembly instructions and recording operations in the given infrastructure.
- Experience with standard measuring instruments, hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
